Heather Malik is a Silicon Valley-based marketing communications consultant and freelance writer. A 20+ year B2B and B2C comms veteran, she has deep expertise in the cybersecurity space and has worked for and with some of that industry’s top brands, including Symantec, Check Point Software, McAfee, Microsoft, and many more.

Heather currently provides a range of client communications and consulting services including public relations, industry analyst relations, content marketing, corporate messaging, social media, blog writing, brand building, event planning, and more.

With marketing roots in the lifestyle, consumer goods, and hospitality industries, Heather began her career working at several Los Angeles PR agencies. Impressively, at age 23 she held the distinguished title of Ronald McDonald Program Manager during her work supporting the McDonalds Owner-Operators’ Association of Southern California. Part of that work also included PR campaigns for Ronald McDonald House Charities, coordination of McDonalds Gospelfest, and administration of several college scholarship programs serving underprivileged communities.

Heather has been on countless national and international press tours; written well over five hundred media releases, blogs, bylines, and reports; and has had her clients featured in thousands of publications around the globe including USA Today, Financial Times, Associated Press, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Good Housekeeping, InStyle, Parade, Real Simple, NBC Nightly News, CNBC, CNN, PC World, CNET, Dark Reading, to name just a few.

A graduate of San Jose State University, Heather holds a B.S. in Public Relations with a minor in Spanish. In her time off the clock, she serves as a member of the UCI Customer Experience Advisory Board, is a volunteer wish granter with Make-A-Wish, and an avid pickle ball player. She also enjoys reading, writing, and learning about architecture, interior design, history, travel/tourism, culinary arts, and health/fitness.
